HOW DID YOU GET INTO RECRUITING?
“Like most people, I fell into recruiting and stayed because I love working with people. Working as a recruiter has allowed me to develop genuine relationships with an enormous network of people. I can’t imagine doing anything else!”
WHAT MAKES A GOOD RECRUITER?
“First, you have to be a people person, because this job is all about people.
Second, you need to have an uncommon resilience and tenacity because people are unpredictable, and not every day will be a home run.
Lastly, you must be a good listener. Every client and every candidate is different, and you can’t force them into a box expecting them to be happy. Before I move forward with any client I like to sit down and listen to their needs and pain points. I find out more about their company culture and what it takes to succeed in their organization.”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A RECRUITER?
“My favorite part is the relationships I’ve built with my clients and candidates. What might start with a 5 minute cold call, can quickly turn into 5 years of relationship, where you know their favorite things, you know their kids birthdays, and these everyday people confide in you because of the bond you’ve been able to create. Who wouldn’t love helping people find their dream job while also helping your clients fill tough roles they’ve been struggling to fill?”
Creating these win-win situations are so rewarding, but it is only possible because I’m not just providing a warm body for a position—I’m providing solutions to the real problems my clients are facing. When there is an organic fit between a candidate and a company that wouldn’t have transpired otherwise – it makes everything worthwhile! For me, it's about creating value for both my clients and candidates.”
WHAT DRIVES YOU TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND?
“What drives me is the ability to make a difference. I have a young son and daughter who drive me every day to go above and beyond. I want to be able to give them everything in the world, and I want them to be able to say they’re proud of me. I believe that what I do makes a difference in other’s lives, and that’s something I’m proud of. When I help someone find their dream job or help a client sleep better because we found them the ideal candidate it makes me feel like I made the world just a bit better.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING AT IMPRESIV HEALTH?
"Impresiv Health is such a fun place to work, full of unique and diverse personalities with a wealth of knowledge and backgrounds. The team that I work with are all experts in the healthcare field, so there is always someone to turn to if I have a question.
Plus, there is always great food! We make sure to find time each week to either have lunch together or do a potluck in the office. Eating together encourages communication between everyone and helps cement our bond as a team. Interesting factoid- Our CEO, Marcus Fontaine, makes the most amazing roast pork."

"My job is about pairing the right people with the right organization at the right time. To do this I constantly have my ear to the ground while also cultivating those relationships I keep talking about. Recently, a candidate that I had previously placed called me because his contract was about to end, and he was hoping I could find him a new position. Earlier that day I had met with a new client who had been struggling for months to fill a role because of the very specific skills it required. Guess who had all those skills they had been struggling to find? Two weeks later the candidate had a wonderful new position, and the client was thrilled with how quickly we provided them with a solution to their problem."
